Help Desk Desktop Support

Description of Services:

  • Ability to customize the Mac or Wintel operating system (wallpaper, shortcuts/aliases, screen colors, sounds pointers, screen-saver, etc.) Ability to install/configure a shrink-wrap application on a Mac or PC. Ability to install/configure internally developed applications.
    Demonstrated ability to configure a Mac or PC and it's peripherals for connection to a large network using TCP/IP. Understanding of computer related terminology (CPU, Internet, Networking, Client/Server, LAN/WAN, etc.) Understand preparation and steps necessary to prepare and rebuild a PC or Mac operating system from scratch and from an image. Demonstratable experience trouble-shooting an operating system and shrink-wrapped application problems. Experience teaching people basic networking, Windows, and Mac operating system basics.
    Understanding of, and ability to use “Help Desk” and other documentation tools designed for help desks. Ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision at times.
    Normal working hours are 8 am to 5 ppm Central Time Zone, Monday through Friday. May require shifting work hours to accomodate work request requirements.

    Description of Services:

    • The consultant will provide Level One Support for the following MICS LastWord applications: Enterprise Orders, Pharmacy, and Flowsheets. Additional assignments may include software verification or test plan development. The Hospital Medications and Orders Unit Head and the Enterprise Orders Team Leader will approve the specific assignments. Experience providing Level One Support in a healthcare environment and LastWord knowledge are highly desired. Must maintain strict confidentiality of information, exhibit strong customer service skills, professional attitude, and the ability to work effectively as a team member.

    Web Developer - J2EE Programmer

    Description of Services:

    • The IT Section of Education Support Systems is seeking a skilled, Analyst/Programmer, to join the newly formed Enterprise Learning System (ELS) team. ELS is a knowledge management system which will provide point of care access to clinical information, portals to more in-depth learning and an individual learning portfolio. This foundation based initiative is high profile, targeting an aggressive development/implementation. The candidate selected, will work with a dynamic team in developing software in the J2EE/Websphere/Rational Application Developer environment. The candidate is required to work on-site at Rochester, MN. Candidate will participate in an on-call, after-hours rotation.
